Overview:
Takin.solutions developed the first Semantic Reference Data Models (SRDM) for SARI, providing reusable, standardized semantic models for core reference entities. The models were based on CIDOC CRM and aligned with well-known reference sources identified jointly by SARI and Takin.solutions.
Scope of Work:
- Conceptualized and defined reference models for key entities, including Persons, Groups, Artworks, Built Works, Events, Places, Archival Documents, Bibliographical Entities, and Digital Objects
- Created mappings from each entity and its properties to CIDOC CRM paths, with equivalencies to reference data sources
- Produced detailed documentation describing each model’s conceptual framework, entity definitions, property usage, and mapping rationale
- Delivered all models and documentation in electronic form (text, PDF, JPG where applicable)
Outcome:
The project established the first standardized SRDMs for SARI, providing a foundation for consistent, interoperable semantic modelling across cultural heritage and research data systems, and enabling reuse in future projects.
