Overview:
Takin.solutions supported Historic England, in collaboration with Farallon Geographics and the Getty Conservation Institute, to develop semantic data models for Arches for HERs, a purpose-built instance of the Arches platform for UK Historic Environment Records (HERs). Arches for HERs enables the management, visualization, and publication of heritage information in compliance with FISH and MIDAS Heritage standards and supports advanced geospatial, temporal, and relational data workflows.
Scope of Work:
- Supported the design of resource and semantic models for HERs in Arches
Takin.solutions Role:
Acted as conceptual modelling consultant, providing expertise in structured heritage data design, model standardization, and best practices for interoperability. Guided the creation of reusable, extensible models to ensure long-term maintainability, usability, and community adoption.
