Project Overview:
As part of the ORDEA Project, Takin.solutions developed and stabilized the AAAo and CPRo ontologies to support structured modeling of architectural and cultural heritage documentation. The work included refining existing ontological models, producing fully documented specifications in the style of CIDOC CRM, and delivering RDFS serializations suitable for mapping, querying, and semantic platforms.
Scope of Work:
-
Ontology Stabilization: Improve and finalize the existing ontologies, delivering stable release versions with specification documents and RDFS serializations.
-
User Documentation: Produce explanatory materials demonstrating how the ontologies can be applied to real-world documentary and data modeling situations, including visualizations and applied examples.
-
Collaborative Workflow: Drafts were shared internally with ETH Zürich for review, and finalized documents were archived in ETH Research Collections and Zenodo repositories.
Deliverables:
-
D1: AAAo and CPRo stable release (PDF specification + RDFS serialization)
-
D2: Explanatory documentation illustrating ontology application in data modeling
Impact:
The project provides ETH Zürich and the wider community with robust, semantically interoperable ontologies, enabling consistent modeling, integration, and reuse of architectural and cultural heritage data across research and digital platforms.
